I believe so bad, because I accidentally forgot about a heating and a/c appointment that I had stressed today. Ugh, I have been through this many times before. It seems like this is becoming an all too common occurrence for me. I am talking about the hotel’s air conditioning not working. As a person who is constantly on the road traveling for business, this is a real issue I come across frequently. It doesn’t matter whether I stay at the cheap hotels, or the better ones. Eventually, they will start having heating and A/C problems sooner or later. It is incredibly frustrating, and even though I have called and vented to the managers of the hotels, nothing has been done, not even an apology. I arrived at the hotel I was supposed to stay for the night in, and I was able to check in smoothly. I was probably only in my room for 10 minutes, when ofcourse, I noticed that the cooling machine was working. I practically knew the drill by now, which is to go and complain to the front desk person, and then wait until they switch me to a new room. But this time was different. The lady actually told me to hold on and she will send the on site heating and air conditioning technician to repair the cooling unit. It only took about 10 minutes and the cooling specialist was already done, and the A/C was working again. I was impressed, for once, by a hotel that actually had things together. I loved the fact that they had a HVAC specialist on site, and I think all hotels should have that, in case of cooling issues. I will be staying at that hotel again.

I am definitely the kind of person to jump on any kind of deals a business may be having.

So of course when the local HVAC business was having free heating and A/C tune ups, I jumped on that! The thing is, I don’t see heating and A/C professionals as often as they recommend.

I know they recommend your A/C equipment to be maintained twice a year, but I don’t usually do that. So this would be the first time I would see a HVAC tech in several years. I knew my air conditioner and heating system could definitely benefit from maintenance. So I called the HVAC dealer, and they told me it would be a two week waiting period. This was fine with me, because I am still getting it for free. Those two weeks came and went, and finally, the A/C tech arrived. The guy was pretty straight to the point, and didn’t seem to want to talk, which is also fine with me. He managed to complete the maintenance in under 15 minutes, and was on his way. I didn’t really notice anything different with the A/C device, but I know the maintenance had to help in one way or another. I am really hoping that the HVAC corporation eventually has a free HVAC repair special going on, I could really use that. But until then I will probably just deal with my HVAC system as I have it now. My heating and cooling device has been working just fine without maintenance for a long time, so it could probably go awhile without it again.

Sometimes you just want to try other places. A good example is a vet place I went to. The place itself was really nice, and so was the vet. You could tell they really loved the animals that they treated, however, they were also really expensive, and I couldn’t always afford to go to them. Then the next place was nice too, but they didn’t allow you to be with your pet in the office, and I didn’t want to leave my pet alone and afraid in a foreign environment. So I did eventually find another vet place that was cheaper, but they also allowed me to be in the same room as my pet. I wanted to do something similar with the heating and cooling business I originally chose. I had been going with the same HVAC corporation for many years, but their always increasing prices bothered me greatly. I decided that it was too much, and I wanted to try somewhere else. There was a new heating and A/C corporation not that far away from my usual one, and it was one I had never noticed before. I decided to give them a try, and see how things work out. The HVAC specialist arrived a few days later, and I was surprised at how friendly he was. Even when I talked to the HVAC representative when scheduling the appointment, she was really friendly too. The guy was not only kind but also fast in getting the A/C maintenance done. I was impressed. I think I found my new business to go to.
