I thought maybe I could get a costly fireplace, but I wasn’t sure! Then I had the idea that it would be awesome to add both a fireplace and something like radiant floors. I don’t even know why I thought about radiant floors, I just remember going to a get-together a long time ago in this huge house that had radiant floors, and they just seemed like something costly to have to impress people. The comfort was second to none with that heating. I remember feeling like I could stay there forever, but eventually everybody had to leave after the get-together was over, and back then when I looked into the price of radiant floors, I thought I would never be able to afford something like that. Well, these days, I have been successful in my job and I have a lot of money saved up. I realized that I could certainly afford these upgrades for my home, so I made the arrangements plus had the radiant floors installed along with the fireplace. It cost myself and others a fortune and I just about emptied my savings account, but the investment was so worth it! With the radiant floors, my yearly bills dropped considerably and my house was packed when I hosted my holiday get together!

When I was asking the HVAC expert about energy saving tips, he thought about it for a moment, then he seemed to be struggling like he was unsure of any energy saving tips. Eventually though, his eyes lit up and he said we should upgrade to a more energy efficient HVAC system. I said, “Really, that’s all you could come up with?” I mean apparently something that is more energy efficient is going to save energy! I was tempted to call him ‘Captain Obvious’ then he said it would be great to go for a ductless mini break as those have a good SEER rating and are severely energy efficient, then as an afterthought, he said it would be great to use LED bulbs in the house as well. I had to admit, that was a pretty great energy saving tip, and I also liked the sound of the ductless mini split, especially when he told us how it has numerous zones with varying upgrades where we could have customized temperature control settings in our house. Our HVAC plan was only 8 years old and I wasn’t sure if we should just space it in favor of an HVAC upgradement. Then he mentioned that we could constantly sell the older HVAC plan or they would take it and spend a particular amount to use it for parts. I decided to go that route and before I knew it, we had a new HVAC plan installed. I just wanted lower energy bills and the LED lights helped a lot too.

When my central heating plan broke down, I definitely freaked out.

I even had the heating plan tuned up and the HVAC expert didn’t say that I should expect our plan to break down at the worst possible time.

I guess that’s just the risk I take with using older machines though. The HVAC was going on 11 years afterall. It wasn’t even covered under warranty anymore, that’s how old it was, and well, I got a few portable area furnaces from my attic, but realized that wasn’t enough! Still, I put them in the basement so that our pipes wouldn’t freeze and I asked a friend of mine if he would lend me his area heaters. His central heating plan was nice and he said I could always just come hang out at his place. I thought about it and realized it would be more comfortable. I already called the HVAC business and they said it would take a week to get to my house because they were backed up with heating plan repair work. Fortunately as long as I kept those furnaces running in sections of our home, it would stay warm enough so the pipes wouldn’t freeze, that was my main concern, but my buddy was definitely nice to lend me the furnaces along with letting me stay at his locale for that duration of time, eventually I got the call from the heating plan expert and he was able to get the heating plan easily working nice again. When I went to give my buddy the area furnaces back, he told me I could just keep them because he never planned on using them. I told him I would provide them back if he ever ended up in an emergency situation like I was in.
