Normally, we try to get to a cooler area during our summer vacation.

However, the pandemic issue sort of threw a wrench in our plans the last couple of summers.

Last summer, there was no travel at all as we stayed very close to our air conditioning in our home. Both my wife and I were working at home in the HVAC at that point. The idea of going on our summer trip just didn’t appeal to either of us given all the restriction. I didn’t really want to vacation and only be able to eat take out. This year, we are vaccinated against the virus and feel a bit more free. However, we’re still being careful so our summer trip was fun but not all that far from home. Still, it was so nice to get out of our air conditioning and see something new. Since we knew that we were going to be in the same region, air conditioning where we were staying took on added relevance. But we needn’t have worried. The mid tier hotel we chose to stay in had the big wall HVAC units. Those are the ones that are the most reliable and really pack some HVAC cooling even when it’s broiling in this region. And trust me, it can get down right scorching in the middle of summer around here. However, we had a great time on our trip. We saw new stuff, had some great laughs and were super cool in our hotel room. I love going to sleep with that big air conditioner doing its thing all night. I even pulled up the blanket on one occasion.

It went on and on just like the other colds I had ended up with over the years.

Though not completely debilitating, the way I felt made it sort of tough to enjoy anything about life.

And to think that it was cured with the help of the HVAC still blows me away. But until I learned of the HVAC help, I just felt semi miserable week after week. It’s like the sinus stayed stuffed up and my congestion was just unrelenting. Like the worst of the cold was over but the lingering symptoms simply went on and on. Finally, I broke down and went to see the doctor. What I was expecting to hear from her was much different than what she recommended. She didn’t need her prescription pad for healing me up. My doctor told me to eat better, rest better and get more exercise. She also told me to get the indoor air quality higher in my house. This, she believed, was what was causing havoc with my respiratory system. I was a bit confused by my doctor’s recommendations but, I picked up a HEPA air filter on the way home. When I got home and told my wife what the doctor said, she picked up the phone and called the HVAC company. She lined us up to get ductwork cleaning and ductwork resealing for a few days later. Once the HVAC air ducts were cleaned and resealed, my symptoms lessened before stopping altogether. Within a week, I was breathing freely and deeply in our much cleaner indoor air. And there was not a hint of respiratory ailment.

Always make sure that you clear out around the exterior A/C unit before you start running the cooling system for the summer.

To ensure that the air conditioning system will run correctly throughout the long, hot, summer, you need to make sure that you are cleaning out around the outside of your A/C unit. When you first look at it, it might seem like it’s too much for you to handle, but it’s really not all that difficult if you know what you’re doing. Always make sure that you clean off the top of the fan cage, just in case any sticks, branches, grass, or vines have gotten stuck in there. After you’ve cleaned the top of the machine, remove the cage of the fan and make sure that there’s nothing inside that shouldn’t be there. You can also remove the side covers and clean out any dirt that has somehow made its way in over the fall and the winter. Sometimes dirt and debris will blow inside and get stuck there during the times when the A/C unit is not in use. Taking just a few minutes to double check these things will definitely be good for you in the long run. You will be happy that you did all of the dirty work before you turned your air conditioning on for the first time. Doing these things will help you to make sure that your cooling system is operating the way that it should during the summer. This will also help you to save money on your cooling bills through the summer.

Our air conditioning system tore up for some reason and I don’t really know what to do about it.

I’m not exactly what you would call a handy type of person and Whenever something around the house tears up, I usually end up panicking and freaking out about it.

At least, that’s my first reaction. Then, I worry about it for three or four days. Then finally, I will do a little bit of research online to see if I might be able to figure things out myself. Usually, that’s not possible. For instance, a few weeks ago when the A/C tore up, it happened to be right in the middle of the hottest part of the summer. The weather had been heating up like crazy over the previous weeks, and the temperature in the house was keeping up with it, it seemed like. I started to panic, like usual. All I could think about was the fact that I was going to be stuck in a hot stuffy house for the next three months without my central air conditioning system! The long, hot summer loomed before me in my mind and I envisioned a terrible time full of sweaty, sleepless nights. Well, after that initial panic, I thought about it for a few days, and I thought about all of the things that I could do. I thought about anyone that I could call who might be able to come and take a look at the A/C for me. There wasn’t anyone that I could think of, and so I looked at several HVAC blogs online until I finally gave up. I made the decision to go ahead and call our local air conditioning repair company, just like I always do.

I almost ruined our HVAC warranty by accidentally skipping the proper maintenance service that we needed for it. Apparently, you have to get the HVAC unit serviced professionally by one of the company’s approved dealers every three months or your warranty is voided. I feel like maybe whenever we bought the HVAC system in the first place, the salesman at the HVAC store might have mentioned this, but I don’t really think I was all the way tuned in, if you know what I mean. I have a lot of trouble listening sometimes whenever I’m in a public area like a store or a restaurant. Everything seems to blend together and I just can’t focus. So if this guy at the HVAC company told us that we needed to get the unit serviced every three months or it would void our HVAC warranty, it went right in one ear and out the other. I didn’t get the unit serviced the first three months that we had it, and apparently there was a grace period for that initial time period. However, I almost forgot after the second three months were up, too! I nearly voided our HVAC warranty because of this silly rule without even meaning to. I guess I’m just really one of those people at heart who thinks that if something isn’t broken then you don’t need to fix it. I don’t ever think about doing the maintenance on our HVAC system if there’s nothing wrong with it! Skipping the maintenance would totally void the warranty, though, and that would be terrible if something should go wrong in the future.

There are some HVAC scammers out there in our community and it’s been getting bad recently.

There are a few guys around here in a couple of neighboring towns and they are really doing a number on some of the elderly people who live around here.

It makes me so mad whenever people are trying to prey upon the elderly to trick them or extort money from them! Unfortunately, That’s what has been happening around here over the past several months. I don’t know why the police have not been able to catch them yet, but I guess they are really good at quick getaways. My friend Elmer from down the street told me that these guys were at his house a couple of weeks ago. He said that they were in a white work van, just like one that you would see your local heating and cooling company employees driving around in. He told me that one of the guys got out of the van and came to the front door while the other two walked around to the backyard. All three of the guys had on HVAC uniforms, but they weren’t from any HVAC company that Elmer had ever heard of. He said that they looked legit, but they were just scoping out his place so that they could come back and rob him later. It made me so mad when Elmer told me about this! I am going to be on the lookout for this so-called HVAC maintenance van. If they show back up, these guys are going to be dealing with me.

I never really knew the importance of our thermostat system until just recently.

• I mean, when you think about it, your thermostat system is really the brain in your heating and cooling system.

The thermostat unit is what controls both your furnace, your air conditioning, and your ventilation system. If you don’t have a properly working thermostat, then your home’s indoor air quality is definitely going to suffer. Not only that, but if your thermostat’s batteries need to be changed or if there is some other issue going on with it, then it’s going to adversely affect the costs of your heating and cooling system. You might end up with very high cooling bills one month, even when you haven’t been using your A/C very much at all. That could all be because your thermostat is out of whack and your A/C is short cycling or something like that. If your thermostat is working incorrectly, then you are going to have issues coming out as symptoms in the rest of your HVAC system. It’s just like if you are having a problem in your nervous system. It really affects the rest of your body. Whenever I read this explanation on one of the HVAC blogs that I follow, it made lots of sense to me. Before I read about this, I never really understood the importance of the thermostat system in the scope of your entire HVAC system. Now I know that it’s probably the most important part! If your thermostat is torn up, then nothing else is going to work and you’re going to be in trouble, that’s for sure.

We are going to be putting a sign in the front yard this week because it’s going to save us some money on our cooling bills.

When my wife first told me that we were supposed to be doing this, I flat out refused to do it.

I told her that our yard was nowhere to be putting ads and billboards to advertise for the local HVAC company. I hate to have anything in our yard that’s not a plant or a flower. I even get mad whenever my kids leave their toys outside in the grass. I couldn’t believe that my wife would offer to put out this HVAC company ad when she knew that I’m not the kind of person who would allow that kind of thing on my property. But when I was done with my tirade about it, I noticed that my wife was just standing there staring at me with her arms folded across her chest. She had a smirk on her face and she asked me if I was done yet. When I finally stopped talking about it, I asked her what she was smiling about. She said that if we put the HVAC company sign out in the yard for a three week period, then we would be eligible for a twenty five percent discount on our new central air conditioning system. Well, when she said that, it changed everything! I was more than happy to leave that HVAC ad out in my yard no matter how trashy it looked! Twenty five percent is twenty five percent, after all.

The last thing that I was really looking for was an HVAC company that was veteran owned and operated

After a few years of looking, I think that I’ve finally found the right HVAC company for me. I always like to find the very best company to do business with if at all possible. I do lots of research online and I also talk to lots of local people before I make the decision on which mechanic to go to, which lawn service to hire, and even which plumber to use. I recently ended up with a central air conditioning system that wasn’t working correctly and so I asked around about local HVAC companies to see if I could find the right one for me. First of all, I wanted an HVAC company that would be very dependable and who had HVAC technicians who would really know what they were doing. I also preferred that it be a local family owned company because I have found in the past that family owned businesses seem to care the most about the quality of their work. When it’s a third or fourth generation family owned company, that makes it even better! I love it when you get a grandfather and grandson working together on the same project. I think that’s awesome. The last thing that I was really looking for was an HVAC company that was veteran owned and operated. I love supporting local veterans and I would rather give my hard earned money to them than to any other group. This time, when the A/C went out, I was able to find the exact kind of HVAC company that I was looking for! Hopefully I will be able to stick with them from now on.

We are working on restoring an older home and we are trying to figure out how to tie in the old heating and cooling system with the new one.

We would really like to try and keep the integrity of the older parts of the house intact if it’s possible.

We really love the way that the older house looks but we don’t like the way that the heating and cooling system works. The only heating system that was in the place when we first bought it was an old school wood burning stove. I’m not sure how people who lived all those years ago used to deal with not having modern heating and air conditioning systems in their homes. It must have been really hard back in the day before there were modern HVAC systems that you could count on to make the indoor air quality in your home nice and comfortable. Anyway, we are working on restoring this home and we want it to still look old even though we want the heating and cooling system to be modernized. I have talked to several different heating and cooling companies in the area and I have a few who are going to be coming out to the house to give us some estimates on the HVAC installation. I think that it’s gonna be a whole lot of work but when it’s finished it will be worth it. I think that older homes have so much more character than new cookie cutter homes do! I know we’re going to love it.
