It’s funny how when I was actually having to be inside my car with the air conditioning cranking for business travel, it was sort of better.

For sure, I couldn’t cover the territory as quickly as I could using air travel.

But when we got sent home to work remotely from the central air conditioning of our homes, I had to figure a way to get to my customers. That’s what I do. I’m sort of the guy who oversees our services and makes onsite visits to update, upgrade or sometimes, sell new services. I couldn’t do all of that from the cooling comfort of my home office the Summer of 2020. So I packed up the car, kissed my wife and turned the air conditioning on high inside my car before hitting the road. And I was, more or less, gone for the entire Summer. Occasionally, I’d stop for a couple of nights at home on my way through town. But primarily, I was out on the road and sleeping in hotels and motels along the interstate. It turned out to be just the thing though as we were able to get through that challenging period. And once again, I’m inside the zone controlled HVAC of my office and traveling for business via commercial aviation. But, I’m no longer staying at the fancy, downtown hotels. Instead, I prefer the airport hotels that have the wall unit commercial HVAC equipment. This is just the sort of commercial HVAC that I could always rely upon when I was out on the road that whole Summer. As long as the room is clean and I can catch a cab to my meetings, I’d prefer to stay where I can absolutely count on the heating and cooling.

I can’t get enough of the guest house that we’d been using for storage since we bought this place.

The idea of me owning a home that had a guest house was sort of weird.

I’m really not that guy. But the fact is, this is an older place and way back then, there were separate quarters for guests. Our home was built well before the advent of residential HVAC. And it’s not palatial by any means. Too often, people here that we have a guest cottage and think we live in a mansion. That’s so not the case. In fact, we couldn’t even live in the house for a year after we bought it. That’s how much renovating that had to be done. Since we were basically gutting the inside of the main house and taking things to the studs, we had ductwork installed in order to have central air conditioning. The house has been finished a while now and we’ve been in it for more than a year. It really is a treasure and I have to tip my cap to my wife whose vision was brought to life. But when it came to the guest cottage, that was on me. It seemed a stupid waste for it to just be storing our junk. So I called the HVAC company first to get some heating and cooling in there. They put in a pair of ductless heat pumps as I wasn’t going full renovation on the guest house. I have to say, all I had to do was add some furnishing, rehab the awesome pine flooring and throw up some fresh paint once we had residential HVAC in there. Now, it’s my go to spot when I need some me time.

 

Energy saving tips

Due to a storm that will be passing through our area, it has been nothing but cloudy outside. And honestly? I love it. With the wind and clouds, comes a wonderful cooling breeze, and when you live in the south, you really learn to appreciate the cool days. So come storm, come right on through and bring that nice cool weather with you. You know what? I think I am going to take a nice walk outside and enjoy the cool day. I don’t really have anything else to do. I already took care of most of my tasks for the weekend, and I won’t have to worry about anything else until tomorrow. So I took a nice stroll outside, and enjoyed the chilly breeze. While I was walking outside, a light drizzle began. Not enough to make me duck for cover, but to enjoy the wonderful breezy weather with slight rain. It is during days like these that I really appreciate and feel at home in nature. Most people prefer sunny days, but I prefer my days overcast. I made it back home before it started to rain harder, and since it was going to be a rainy day, it was a good idea to stay inside and read a book. I had a heating and air conditioning scheduled for tomorrow, and I am glad it was for tomorrow, because A/C appointments are often canceled during storms. It is only supposed to rain for today, so tomorrow the HVAC appointment should be fine.

I was out driving on the main road, and I noticed a yellow HVAC van drive by.

A few minutes later, an orange one drove by.

Then another, and another. I must have seen at least 5 different heating and cooling company cars. 3 of which were from different A/C companies. Wow, I knew there were a ton of HVAC businesses around here, but there were a lot more than I had thought. All of the heating and cooling vehicles were buzzing around like busy bees, and I am not surprised, considering that it is in the middle of summer. When summer rolls around, all of the heating and air conditioning companies become super busy. The intense heat of summer causes a lot of air conditioning devices to break down, and then a ton of people call for the help of certified cooling specialists. As I spot yet another cooling worker, I can’t help but to feel grateful that I don’t have to worry about the hassle that comes with summer. I work a normal office job, and while it has its ups and downs, at least I can stay in my nice zone controlled HVAC office, and not have to worry about the intense summer heat, or worrying about other people getting mad at me if I am late to their appointments. Yeah, I’ll stay in my nice cool work office instead of being outside in that weather. I am grateful we have those cooling specialists though, because indoor comfort would practically be nonexistent without them.

When my fiance was expecting our firstborn, she got to a point in her pregnancy where she became obsessive about our condo being perfect for the baby. I would come cabin plus find that she had changed something in the living area, from the coffee table to the couch; everything seemed to be shipping out faster than the baby was coming. She called it nesting. We were going to have a winter time baby, plus in the last month, she mentioned that the routine heating repair was not enough because we’d had the Heating plus A/C professional perform more than one heating repair on the boiler. She feared the heating device would deliver in on a freezing night plus the child would suffer hypothermia, and her anxiety got to me, plus my pal and I bought current heating device from the local heating supplier, which is how my pal and I ended up with an electric heater. I thought that was the end of her fears about the Heating plus A/C upgrade until I found her shopping for a current fireplace at the heating dealership online store. I asked her about it, plus she mentioned that the wooden one was unsafe to have with a child because it increased the risk of burning plus other fire-related accidents. I’m not a heating specialist, so I had no knowledge of how to convince her otherwise, plus getting rid of it or not using it were not options for either of us. We called the heating specialist who’d installed the other current device plus got a recommendation to change from wood to an electric heating source which would be scrub plus guarded by the glass. The glass could still burn the teenagers if touched while hot, however my pal and I also got to control the hot plus cold temperatures using a thermostat, but glad my pal and I did all that with the first kid.

I have been using it for a year now

My best friends got married, & soon after, they started to look for houses to buy. One of the houses I loved most had a fireplace & some new type of electric heater as part of the Heating & Air Conditioning replacement. I loved the bathtubs in it too, but the heating unit caught my interest. It looked like something straight out of a dream, & I could not see how my friends would not close the deal on it. I remembered my home only had a gas heater for heating & how much I’d care about to have heating unit installed at my learning nook, which happens to be in the kitchen area. It’s a pretty cozy corner, but I imagined how cozy it would be when I got a heating professional to install a heater around it. I took pictures of what was in that home & passed by the heating dealership to see how much it would cost to purchase & install. My target was to have the heating company send their Heating & Air Conditioning professional to install it during my next heating repair appointment. They had what I needed, & I had time to save up, which was three months that passed by so slowly that I almost called the heating specialist before the date we would agreed upon. It took two afternoons to install the heater since it was electric & my pal and I were not doing excessive construction work. I have been using it for a year now. It’s cozy because I can regulate it with a thermostat, so it doesn’t get too warm & uncomfortable. I care about it & hope it serves me for as several years as possible before I pay for heating repair to keep it running.

There’s always a first time for everything as a heating specialist! I was lucky enough to get hired by our local heating company shortly after graduation & during the season when all the people is trying to get heating repair & heating repair handled as urgently as possible; This meant I’d get a occasion to learn on the task faster than expected because of the numerous calls for an Heating & Air Conditioning professional.

• Most houses in our town had a gas heater, so I gained more than enough experience handling similar Heating & Air Conditioning replacement, & I almost thought that would be all the heating dealership would be doing through the season.

I wanted to handle a different heating device, an electric heater, a boiler, or the more new options, then but afternoons passed, & my pal and I got the same calls that I started going off on visits alone since I had enough experience to handle heaters which I started to assume we’re the self-explanatoryst heating equipment. My first different task was with a thermostat that had refused to work, but on concernshooting check, it was only a concern with the batteries, which was self-explanatory to change without consulting, however eventually, my pal and I got the call just before winter time set in from a homeowner who wanted a fireplace makeover. I had to join the more experienced heating professional for the task. Thankfully, my pal and I did not have other calls scheduled! We demolished the older unit, added sheetrock, redid the gas fixtures, & finally oversaw the fireplace builders adding a stone finish. It was exciting because I learned how to wash out the chimney part & the rest of the replacement point! Over the years, I’ve been back to that home for repair, & they have kept the unit as great as it was when my pal and I did the makeover.

My buddy stayed over last night plus is now on an airplane back to her condo country.

She visited me for less than a day plus I showed her around town plus she easily likes this place.

I didn’t have a ton of energy to walk around last night so after about an hour I came condo plus rested on the sofa while she walked around more to see the town. I am still reuseing from the flu plus my energy level is at about 76% right now, despite the fact that I believe in two or three afternoons I’ll be 100%. Cooling down at night with my mini split a/c component easily helped me sleep well because I had such a fever from the flu that it was not easy to sleep separate from some weather conditions control! Now I am back to just using a fan at night for sleep as it cools me down a bit plus also drowns out any noise that may come from the bar in the back of my flat. It can get loud at night back there plus having an a/c fan running helps block out the noise so I can get a great night of sleep. I also wear ear plugs plus when it is super noisy back there I will put on some noise canceling headphones so that I don’t hear a thing. It is a great system that my heating rep told me about with the earplugs plus headphones plus I seem to sleep easily well using them each night, and life is good!

 

Help with indoor comfort

I believe tonight will be a treat night for me plus I’ll watch a great movie or documentary later.

I don’t watch much as far as movies go, but tonight is going to be an early night for me because tomorrow I need to be all rested so my buddy and I can play music on this pier that juts out into the sea.

I want to come up with some up-to-date music plus tomorrow may be the perfect day to do so, as the weather is going to be easily nice plus my bandmate is coming into town to play. Heating plus cooling repairs is what my buddy and I both do plus that is how my buddy and I met a couple of years ago, despite the fact that I didn’t know at that point that he was also a musician. I was playing volleyball one day on the beach plus I heard him singing plus playing guitar plus it sounded different plus cool to me so I joined him one day singing plus the rest is history. My great friend and I will be playing in local businesss all over the country one day plus in the winter my buddy and I will play for this club with a nice fireplace plus a easily great sound system. It is nice having hope for the future plus this band gives me a lot to be hopeful for plus I am grateful for getting the chance to play in such a cool group. My great friend and I have another Heating plus Air Conditioning tech that wants to join us when my buddy and I play plus my buddy and I will honestly invite her one day in the near future to see how it goes.
