My cousin Angela is expecting her first baby soon, and she really wants to get moved out of the awful rental house that they are in before the baby gets here.

• They ended up moving into this particular rental house that they were in right now because there was nowhere so it’s available in our area when they first got married.

They have been there for about 13 months now, but Angela is very insistent that they get out of there before the baby comes. I can’t say that I blame her, either, because the rental house is pretty awful. The HVAC system in the house is ancient and I just feel like the indoor air quality in the house is much less than it actually should be. Of course when you are having a new baby, you always want to make sure that the indoor air quality is as great as it can possibly be. That’s the whole reason that Angela wants to move out. She wants to find a place that has a newer high efficiency heating and cooling system installed in it. She is also very hopeful that a new place will have something called a whole home air purification system installed to run in tandem with the HVAC system so that purified air will run throughout the entire house. I told her that I would help her go on the search for a new place because time is running out. I’m sure that there are some better places available now. If we can’t find a better place for them, then I am personally going to purchase an air purification system for them as a gift for the new baby!

We have been wanting to get a fireplace installed in our house for months now, and I think that it’s finally time to start working on the project.

We have been putting it off for a long time because we just have so much other stuff going on.

There have been all kinds of things happening around here that have taken up our time and so it’s been the last thing on our list. However, the other day I saw that there was a sale on fireplace inserts at our local HVAC company. They were working on getting rid of the fireplace stuff from last year and I guess they were doing a big clearance sale. When I saw the ad for the fireplace sale, I knew that it was finally time for us to do something about our dream! We just knew that we really wanted to have a wood burning fireplace in our house. We wanted to have stacked stone from the creek nearby as our chimney and mantle. But other than those things, we didn’t really know what else we wanted. Whenever I found out that the HVAC company was going to be having a big sale on their fireplace products, We decided to go in and ask them what their opinion was on our fireplace project. It’s a really good thing that we decided to do that, too, because it turns out that the HVAC company actually has a fireplace specialist who works there. This fireplace specialist actually does nothing at all but plan fireplaces out for customers who are in the market for both wood burning fireplaces and gas log fireplaces.

I keep on telling my husband that I’m not the one who is changing the thermostat settings in our house but he doesn’t seem to believe me for some reason.

But then on the other hand, I think that he’s the one who is changing the thermostat! I’ve been getting so mad at him over it that I’ve been yelling at him a lot more than normal, that’s for sure.

So both of us are getting really ticked off about the thermostat settings, but neither of us will admit that we are the one changing the temperature on the thermostat! It’s kind of crazy to be living in our house at this point. It’s been really rough this winter, but I’m beginning to think that maybe neither one of us are lying about it! I mean, that sounds crazy because I know for a fact that I’m not the one who is lying. I don’t know if he is, though, but he gets so annoyed at me whenever I say anything about him changing the thermostat that I’m beginning to believe him when he says that it’s not him. Maybe the thermostat is actually changing itself. My friend told me the other day that her smart thermostat started acting crazy whenever the power went out and that’s when she realized that the power surge had messed it up. She had to go in and completely reset the settings on the thermostat so that it started running correctly again. I think that might be the issue with ours. That would really make sense, but it will make us feel pretty stupid if that ends up being the case.

We stayed at my aunt’s house way out in the country when we went there for vacation several months ago. It was a fun trip, but we ended up not having enough room inside the house for all of us. She’s got a houseful of people most of the time. While we were there, two of her older kids came home from college unexpectedly and so there was even less room than there was going to be in the first place. We started to worry about having enough room in the house for all of us, but my aunt told us that it wasn’t going to end up being an issue for us. She said that we would be able to sleep out in the driveway in one of their RVs. They have two different RVs that they take camping every now and then throughout the year. My aunt said that since they weren’t going to have enough room inside of the house for all of us, she would just have her husband go and pull up the RV closer to the house. It was really cold outside that night, and I was worried that the temperatures were going to be too cold for them to sleep outside in a camper. But they got it all hooked up and my two daughters moved out there for the weekend. They thought that it was great fun to live in the RV and so they didn’t mind at all. The only thing that I was concerned about was the fact that they might not have enough heating inside of the RV. My aunt’s husband got the furnace up and running inside of the RV and by the time the girls went to bed that first night, they were warm and toasty inside of the RV. Apparently, the RV has a better heating system in it than my aunt has inside of her house!

After living in this house for the past few years, we finally have our answer as to why our heating and cooling bills are always so high.

I don’t know why it took us so long to finally install a new thermostat system, but now we are finally starting to save some money on our heating and cooling bills.

I guess we finally have our answer as to why we were paying so much. I guess our thermostat unit was faulty, and since it is basically the brain of your HVAC system in your home, that was our problem. Most of the time, I really don’t think all that much about the thermostat in my house. It’s one of those things that really slips my mind. Whenever I want to turn the heating system up, that’s really the only time that I ever think about the thermostat. Other than that, it never even crosses my mind at all. I always thought that our thermostat was just fine, but apparently I was wrong about that. I thought that there was probably an issue with the furnace or with the insulation in the house or something like that at first. We had a hard time paying for the high heating and cooling bills, though, so I’m glad that we finally figured out what the problem was. I hope that we are going to have a much better time now with our new thermostat. I like the new thermostat that we got. It’s a smart thermostat and so it’s one of those that you can control from an app on your smartphone. I love that, but the best part about it is the fact that the heating and cooling bills are coming down considerably.

I don’t like the way that it feels so hot and stuffy in the house whenever I have the furnace turned up.

So many of my friends and family have complained about how cold I keep it in my house. I have finally come up with a new plan. I now have a bin that’s full of guest slippers and sweaters that people can use whenever they come over to my house to visit. I started to think that maybe I wasn’t being a very good hostess because everyone always seemed to be so cold in my house all the time. I didn’t like seeing my guests shivering and feeling cold all the time. They would act like they were freezing and during the winter, people in the small group that I host once a week would squeeze in next to the gas log fireplace just to try and get warm. It would make me laugh a little bit just because I don’t ever feel cold in my house. I’m always hot and so I hardly ever have the heating turned up in my house very much. I don’t like the way that it feels so hot and stuffy in the house whenever I have the furnace turned up. My husband and I are both pretty hot natured, and so we don’t end up with high heating bills during the winter, that’s for sure. However, when you host as many gatherings as we do, you have to start thinking about the people that you are dealing with as your visitors. That’s what happened to me, anyway. Now that I have this bin full of guest slippers and sweaters, I know that everyone will be much happier and warmer in my house!

Since my husband is such a well known guy around town, he’s constantly getting things at a good price from people that know him and like him.

• It’s funny whenever we go out for dinner or to the movies because it never fails that two or three people from the community stop and talk to my husband about their heating and cooling problems that they are having at their houses.

It’s funny because my husband usually rolls his eyes when he sees someone coming over to talk to him, but I know for a fact that he enjoys his bit of small town celebrity as the best HVAC technician in the area. Once in a while, we will get moved ahead on the seating list at our favorite restaurant. Sometimes we get into the movies for free and a few months ago, my husband got an amazing deal on his new car because he had put in a new furnace system in the car salesman’s house the week before. I always think that it’s interesting that people will give him a good deal just because they know him from their HVAC needs. I mean, he really does do a great job when it comes to heating and cooling systems, but he doesn’t know why people love him so much. He’s pretty personable, though, so I think that’s why. He’s always getting free stuff and it turns out to be a pretty good deal for us, that’s for sure. I love the fact that we get free stuff all the time. And if all he has to do is give out some free heating and cooling advice once in a while, I will take that trade any time. He loves to talk about HVAC stuff anyway!

My sister won a radio contest last month whenever she called in to answer some questions about one of her favorite bands.

• She was really surprised whenever she got through because the phone lines at the radio station were always busy.

She ended up knowing every single answer to the questions that the DJ asked on the quiz about this band that they were trying to promote. She says that she still doesn’t know how she did it, but I guess she’s just good at taking tests or something. I mean she knew a lot about the band, but she was really nervous and she thought that she would mess everything up but she didn’t. Well, the local HVAC company was the one who was sponsoring the contest and the prize that they were offering was a brand new HVAC system. I thought that was a pretty spectacular prize for a little radio show contest. My sister thought so too. She was so excited when she won this new HVAC system that she could barely contain herself. When I heard her on the radio, it sounded like she was about to cry when they told her what her prize was. She had been in great need of a new heating and cooling system for a while. Her old one was really on the verge of breaking down and those things are really expensive! She’s supposed to be having an install later on this week, and she’s super excited about it. I’m really happy for her. It’s about time one of us won something!

My friend Alex runs an automotive customization shop here in town.

He’s been doing it for the past three years or so and he’s really built it up into a pretty great business.

Lots of people that I know go to him because they say that he’s the best automotive customization shop around. He does vinyl wrapping, car window tinting, and all kinds of other custom vehicle graphics that you can’t find anywhere else. I’m honestly not really sure how Alex got into this job in the first place. I know that he started out doing aftermarket performance car parts, but somehow the whole business has morphed into something else where he’s doing all these automotive customizations. He does a lot of online sales, too. However, his custom vehicle graphics are the best. When you see a car around town that has amazing custom vehicle graphics, then you really know that it came from Alex’s automotive customisation shop. There’s nowhere else around who can do that kind of thing with their graphics. I think that it’s great that his business is doing so well. I actually met him whenever I was looking for a place to do some commercial truck lettering for my work van. We really hit it off and he did a great job for me. Now we hang out all the time and I’m always telling everyone about what a great job he does on custom vehicle graphics. I think that maybe he might end up expanding the business soon because he is really busy all the time. If that happens, maybe I’ll go and work for him.

Last summer, we ended up having a bee infestation in our house somehow.

• We have never had any problems with bees in our house before, and so it was a shock for us to see the massive number of bees pouring in and out of our exterior siding! We knew that getting rid of all of those bees was going to take more manpower and skill than we had available.

My husband and I are both pretty afraid of bees. My husband is especially afraid of them, and so he wasn’t really interested in trying to do the extermination ourselves. I told him that it was gonna probably cost us a whole lot of money to call someone to do a bee extermination, but we talked about it and we decided that having it done professionally was probably going to be worth the money in our case. And so I went online and I found a bee eradication and rescue service near where we live, and I called them up to make an appointment. The first thing that they asked me on the phone was if I knew what sort of bees that we were having problems with. I was not sure at that point if they were wasps, yellowjackets, or some other sort of bees. I just knew that I wanted to get rid of them and get them out of the siding on my house. It cost us quite a bit to get the extermination done, but in the end we were very pleased with the results. Our house is free of bees now!
